Meet the network

Three generations. One network. Everyone wants the same thing.

Every Tennd network is built around one person — the Focus — and the family and friends who support them, their Supporters. Here's one family.

MMargaret, 78The Focus · "Mum"

Wants to matter to the people she loves — and to keep her independence.

CDClaire & DavidPrimary Supporters · her daughter and son

Want to know how Mum's week has been — and to share the load, so it doesn't fall on one of them.

JJames, 19Supporter · her grandson

Wants to stay close to Grandma in moments that fit between lectures.

What gets in the way

Your family cares. Life gets in the way.

Distance, busy lives and too little time. Nobody decides to drift — it happens one missed call at a time.

Then one day you notice. The birthday call was two days late. It's been three weeks since anyone really talked to Mum or Dad. And there's a photo on their wall you've never heard the story behind.

Margaret

"I don't want to be a duty. I want to be part of things."

Claire & David

"Did you ring Mum this week?" "I thought you did."

James

"Grandma's stories are slipping away, and I never know when to ask."

No parent should drift to the edge of their own family.

We've been there

We know what it's like to wish you'd asked one more question.

Tennd began with loss. Between us, we have lost parents, and in the years before, we did what so many families do: juggled work, distance and our own families, called when we could, visited when we could, and always meant to do more.

What stayed with us afterwards wasn't only grief. It was the small things that had slipped by: the calls that got shorter, the weeks that went past, and the questions we never got round to asking.

"Was it the red front door that made you choose our first house?"

"What do you remember most about your dad?"

"What was it like the day I was born?"

We realised that most families will face exactly what we faced. Not because they don't care, but because life gets in the way.

So we built what we wish we'd had: one private place that makes staying close easy, notices when someone is drifting, and keeps the family's stories while there's still time to ask.

"AI should not replace the people we love. It should help us love them better."

How it works

Three steps to a closer family.

1

Set up your network

One of you sets it up once. Your loved one becomes the Focus, and the family join as Supporters. Share the admin, so nobody carries it alone.

2

Say hello in one tap

Quick Connect sends your loved one a selfie, a voice note or a 20-second video — and Tennd nudges whoever's gone quiet.

3

Never miss the everyday

Reminders for tablets, appointments and birthdays. Your loved one confirms, and the network can see it's done.

Live today in Tennd Social

Two everyday loops WhatsApp can't close.

WhatsApp can send a photo or ping an event. What it can't do is notice who's gone quiet, or show the family that a reminder was done. Tennd closes both loops.

Loop 1 · Live

Quick Connect: hello, in one tap

Tennd AI suggests: it's been a little while since Mum heard from you — send a quick photo
01 · Tennd notices

It's been a while since James was in touch, so Tennd nudges him with an idea for what to send.

Quick Connect: send Mum a selfie, a voice note or a 20-second video
02 · One tap

From his home screen he picks a selfie, a voice note or a 20-second video. No chat to open, no group to find.

03 · It lands with Mum

It arrives on Mum's simple, big-button screen — and helps the family garden grow.

In WhatsApp: nobody notices who's gone quiet, and Mum's hello gets buried under the school run.

Loop 2 · Live

Reminders: never miss the everyday

Add a reminder: name, how often it repeats, and time of day
01 · Set it once

David adds "Morning tablets", every day, in the morning — or a GP visit, or a birthday.

02 · A gentle reminder

It appears on Mum's screen at the right time. One big button to say it's done.

Family activity feed showing Mum confirmed a reminder
03 · The network sees it

"Mum confirmed a reminder" appears in the family feed — so neither Claire nor David has to ring and ask.

In WhatsApp: event reminders are built for get-togethers, not a daily routine — and there's no "done" for Mum to tap. Tennd reminds; it doesn't manage treatment.

What Tennd does for the network

One network. Something for everyone in it.

Tennd is organised around the Focus, with a clear place for every Supporter.
Here's what each part of Tennd does for Margaret, Claire, David and James.

Who's in the network: Mum as the Focus, with David, James and Claire; Claire and David are both admins

Why Tennd, not just WhatsApp

WhatsApp was built for talking. Tennd is built for staying close.

Keep WhatsApp for plans and photos. Tennd adds what WhatsApp can't do — because it knows who the network is gathered around.

Tennd Stories · Where family stories live Live now · more coming with v1

Gather and keep your family's stories — ready in minutes, and everyone can add to them.

How they met. The house on the corner. The job they left to start again. The stories only Mum or Dad can tell — told in their own voice, shaped with a little help from AI, and kept by the whole family.

No blank page and no typing. Your loved one looks at a photo and talks, the way they would over a cup of tea. Tennd listens, asks the question a grandchild would ask next, and turns the conversation into a short, warm story in their words — ready in minutes for everyone to read, react to and keep.

A finished Tennd story, The Pink Cake Reveal, told in Mum's words with a family photo

Family history has never been more popular.

Millions of us now build family trees online, send off DNA kits and watch Who Do You Think You Are?, which has been on our screens for more than twenty years. But records can only tell you when someone lived.

Only they can tell you what it was like. Tennd Stories keeps that, in their own voice, while there's still time to ask.

How a story is made

New story: create with Mum, or create your own story
01Choose how to beginCreate a story with your loved one, asking the questions live — or tell your own for the family to keep.
Add photos: choose up to 10 photos for the story
02Pick the photosUp to ten pictures from a moment worth remembering, each with an optional caption.
Ask Mum: who is in this photo? Tap to record your answer
03Just talkYour loved one answers out loud — Tennd writes down their words, then asks a follow-up that fits what they said.

04Kept by everyoneA short story in their words, with the photos — ready in minutes for the whole family to read, react to and add to.
Coming with v1Listen to every story narrated, with a "historical context" section of archive photos from the time and place — always approved by the family.
Further aheadShort story films — photos, narration and music — made for sharing.

Not another memory book. A family's living story.

Memory apps usually ask one person to do the remembering alone. Tennd Stories makes it something the family does together.

How your loved one takes partBook services: typically writes answers to a weekly emailed question. Recording apps: sits for a recorded interview.
Tennd: looks at a photo and talks — no typing.
The questionsBook services: a set list, one at a time. Recording apps: whatever the interviewer thinks to ask.
Tennd: guided, with a follow-up that responds to what they just said.
When you see itBook services: often a printed book, months later. Recording apps: raw recordings to sort through later.
Tennd: a finished story, in minutes.
Who's involvedBook services: one gift-giver, one storyteller. Recording apps: one interviewer.
Tennd: the whole network starts, reads, reacts and adds.
Where it livesBook services: a separate service you visit for one project. Recording apps: files on a phone or in the cloud.
Tennd: in the same place the family already meets every day — so stories keep coming.
Tennd Home · The rhythm of the day Coming soon · in development

Know the day has got going — without anyone having to ask.

The kitchen's been busy since half seven. The front room is warm. The small, ordinary signs that Mum or Dad's day is going as normal — gathered quietly by a few sensors you choose, and shared with the whole network in plain words.

Nothing to wear, nothing to press, no cameras and nothing to report. Your loved one simply gets on with their day. Home sits alongside the Reminders and "I'm up" signal the family already uses, so Claire and David see the same calm picture — and neither has to ring round to find out.

How Home works

01Choose your sensorsPick compatible motion and temperature sensors from the shops. You own them; Tennd simply connects to them.
02Connect them onceA Supporter links them to the network in a few minutes. Nothing for your loved one to set up or learn.
03Simple signals, in plain words"Activity detected." "No activity yet today." Clear, everyday language — never a diagnosis, never a score on your loved one.
04Shared by the networkSignals sit alongside Reminders and "I'm up", so everyone sees the same picture — and the load is shared, not carried by one person.
Coming after v1Tennd Home with compatible motion and temperature sensors, alongside the Reminders and "I'm up" families already use.
Further aheadHome learns the usual rhythm of the week, so the network hears gently when a day looks different — never as an alarm.
The Resilience Score In developmentConnection and daily routine brought together in one wellbeing marker, grounded in published research on healthy ageing — so families can see gradual change, not just single moments. A wellbeing indicator, not a diagnosis.

Not an alarm. Not a camera. A quiet sense of how the day is going.

Most home technology for older people waits for something to go wrong. Home is about the ordinary days — and keeping the whole family in the picture.

What it doesPersonal alarms: rely on a button being worn and pressed. Cameras: rely on someone watching the feed.
Tennd Home: works alongside alarms or emergency alert systems, quietly noticing the rhythm of the day and highlighting changes.
When it's usefulPersonal alarms: in an emergency, once the button is pressed. Cameras: when someone opens the feed.
Tennd Home: every day, in the background.
What the family seesPersonal alarms: usually nothing, unless there's a call. Cameras: video of the inside of the home.
Tennd Home: a few signals in plain words — no video, no audio.
Who's in the loopPersonal alarms: a monitoring centre or one named contact. Cameras: whoever has the login.
Tennd Home: the whole network, with clear roles for every Supporter.
Where it livesPersonal alarms and cameras: a separate service or app, used on its own.
Tennd Home: in the same place as Reminders, Quick Connect and Stories.

Home isn't an emergency service and doesn't replace care. If your loved one has a personal alarm, keep it — Home works alongside it, not instead of it.

Without it, calls get shorter, small changes go unnoticed, and the stories go untold.

What it looks like when it works

Because love needs tending.

A family that's closer every day, with its stories written down while there's still time to ask. The garden is thriving, and the shelf of stories keeps growing.

Margaret

Known, not managed. She hears from someone every day.

Claire & David

Both know how Mum's week has been without a round of phone calls — and share the load between them.

James

Stays close on his own terms, and helps write the family's history.

Trust

Private by design. Careful by choice.

Family only

Every network is private and invitation-only. No public profiles, no strangers.

Clear roles

Your loved one at the centre as the Focus, Supporters around them, and admins who share the running of the network. Sensitive changes go through server-side checks.

Honest about what it is

Tennd shows signals and sends reminders. It doesn't diagnose, treat or replace care.

Questions

What people ask us first.

Who is Tennd for?

Families with an older parent or grandparent at their heart — the Focus — and the children, grandchildren and close friends who support them.

Does Mum or Dad need to be good with technology?

No. Their screen is deliberately simple, with large text and big buttons, and Stories needs only their voice. Video calls on the TV are on our roadmap.

We already have a family WhatsApp. Why add Tennd?

Keep it. Tennd isn't another messenger. It closes the loops WhatsApp can't: a nudge to whoever's gone quiet with a one-tap reply, reminders your loved one confirms that the whole network can see, and a passive "I'm up" — plus stories that are kept.

Is Tennd a medical service?

No. Tennd helps families connect and shows simple signals about daily life. Reminders remind; they don't manage treatment. It is not a substitute for care or emergency services.

What stage are you at?

Tennd is live in alpha with early families. Social — including Quick Connect and Reminders — launches with Stories in version 1, with Home following.

Tend to your people.
